John Cooke joins Vistage UK and Ireland as Business Development Director and brings over 16 years experience in working with large and small organisations, ranging from IBM and Microsoft to John’s own company InfoBasis.
John founded InfoBasis over 8 years ago, and was InfoBasis’ Managing Director for the first two years, working as Business Development Director throughout his time at the company, up to acquisition. InfoBasis specialised in skills and competency analysis and John implemented solutions and partnerships with organisations as far-ranging as Microsoft Corporation, British Computer Society, IBM, Parity, QA, BAE Systems, CompTIA, British Army, NHS, DWP, Home Office, Norwich Union, Safeway, Boeing, RAF and Sony Pictures Entertainment. John worked in both the UK and US managing InfoBasis’s sales teams and partnerships. It was a US partnership that led to InfoBasis being acquired by Salary.com in June 2008.
Prior to InfoBasis, John spent 7 years at Microsoft working in a variety of roles in the Services group. This culminated in managing the design, development and delivery of Microsoft’s skills analysis and learning delivery system – The Learning Portal – to over 27,000 services staff worldwide. John worked in Microsoft’s first internet support team, including providing technical input and review to 10 Downing Street’s web-site launch and the BBC’s web presences. He was the sole trainer in EMEA for a number of server technologies and provided design input to Microsoft’s training courses.
